TRAYVON MARTIN – THE EMMITT TILL OF 2012 By Hermene Hartman

TRAYVON MARTIN  – THE EMMITT TILL OF 2012 By Hermene Hartman, Today’s Transmedia Woman

The murder of Trayvon Martin who was fatally shot in Sanford Florida by a
keystone cop type is the Emmett Till case of 2012.  A teen Black male is in
danger on American streets, in his neighborhood, in the suburbs and on urban
streets.   A young Black Male Walking   (BMW) should be very careful.    His
mere walking is a danger sign. Walking in jeans and sweats and a hoodie
could   be a death sentence.  The reason –  because you are Black and only
because you are Black.

America has a problem –  the perception of the Black Male.  Even with a
Black male occupying The White House, the fear factor and the disrespect
looms.   The President of the Untied States said, if I had a son, he might
look like Trayvon Martin.  The resemblance is clearly there  –   clean cut,
bright shinning face.   He could have also said, maybe if I weren¹t in the
White House, I too would be under the same threat, minus secret service.  Or
he could have also said, when I was his age, it could have been me.

A Washington Post reporter said we are living in a post racial society. The
comment was stimulated, I am sure, because President Barrack Obama is in
office and some might think  race issues have vanished.    Wrong and we knew
it was wrong when she said it.  Try walking the streets as a young black man
and you find out quickly the state of American racism.  The police are
afraid of the children. The children are afraid of the police. Both are
quick on the draw.

Trayvon was walking in his housing complex in Florida. He was walking in a
gated  guarded community.  He went to the store.  He had candy in one hand
and tea in the other.  He was talking on his cell phone.  He had on  the
clothes of youth, a hoodie that is a sweatshirt with a hood.  Did it cost
him his life?    Front-page story in the Chicago Tribune is  ³What black
parents are telling their sons² as they navigate from teenage to adult hood
as they travel the streets in normal life.    This is a Black problem, it is
not a class problem or an education problem,  it is a defined race problem.
It is a problem that whites may not understand, however, it is real.    It
is not new that  Black parents  provide their sons social instructions on a
special code of conduct for Black men.  The Black men of the south,
yesteryear  were told to get off the sidewalk if approaching a white male.
They were also told never to look a white man in the eye and to drop their
heads while talking.

Today, parents tell their children to walk in twos or threes.  They
prepare them for the police stop.  Instructions are stay  in the car, keep
your hands on the wheel. Do not argue.  Get out of the car with your hands
up and  in front of you.  For no reason at all put your hands in your
pocket, it does not matter  that you don¹t have anything  in your pocket, it
matters only what the police officer thinks.  He thinks you have a weapon.

Black Male Tales that are True
I know a Black male who was the top officer of his company working in a
major downtown establishment.  He forget his brief case, filled with work
for the weekend.  He did not go back in the building after hours, because
the guards did not know he was coming. He is never without suit, shirt and
tie, always looking like a fashion plate.    He did not go back in the
building because he is a Black male, and he didn¹t want the guard, the white
guard, to get confused and mistakenly consider him a burglar and shoot him
accidentally in the dark.    He left his briefcase and drove back into the
city the next day and went to his office.

I know another Black man, whose teen child wanted to visit the mall with his
buddies for his birthday, without parents. They wanted to just hang by
themselves.  His father gave him and his buddies instructions.  He drove
them to the mall and they agreed where they would be picked up with specific
time.  He made sure they were nicely dressed. He told them to be polite and
for no reason loud.  He told them to go into the stores only where they
wanted to purchase an item and to make it clear that they were there to buy.
He told them not to laugh too loud.  This was their first venture without
parents.  He was scared to death, explaining to me, you have no idea what
could happen over  absolutely nothing.  He was on pins and needles often
with phone calls to his sons  cell to check on their safety and whereabouts.

I know another Black male who for no reason will not  wear a jockeying suit
or jeans and t-shirt.  He is suited at all times.  His complexion is dark.
He is a successful business owner and works odd hours and is always low key
and polite, no matter what.  He says a screaming black man, a black man with
the wrong hat, the wrong suit of clothing, can cause upset and death.

I have a white neighbor, who was alarmed when she saw  a Black male in the
hallway.   She went and told another white neighbor that a Black man was in
the building.    She was correct.  He was a United States Congressman.  I
had to tell her she would probably see other Black men in my home and that
she could not call the police as though she was in danger when  she saw
someone  walking through the halls.

The young black male in American society is threatened and is a threat all
in one package.    It is ridiculous, yet Black people understand it and live
it.   Women understand it and men understand it most of all and adjust their
style to accommodate.

A maniac, George Zimmerman,  killed Trayvon for no reason other than his own
prejudices.  He has yet to be arrested. This is the tragedy of the tragedy.
America at large is up in arms for the murder and  rightfully are filling
the  streets in protest.  Trayvon could have been anybody¹s child and any
black boy in America.

How To: Hear God’s Voice By Andrew Wommack

How To: Hear God’s Voice
By Andrew Wommack

One of the greatest benefits of our salvation has to be that of hearing God speak to us personally. There can be no intimate relationship with our heavenly Father without it. But, as easy as it is for us to speak to Him, the average Christian has a hard time hearing His voice. This is not the way the Lord intended it to be.

Learning to clearly distinguish God’s voice is invaluable. Instead of going through life blindly, we can have the wisdom of God guide and protect us. There isn’t a single person receiving this letter who couldn’t have their life radically transformed by hearing the voice of the Lord better. The worst marital problem is one word from the Lord away from a total turnaround. If you have sickness or disease, one living word from the Lord will instantly heal you. If you are in financial crisis, the Lord knows exactly how to turn your situation around. It’s just a matter of hearing His voice.

The Lord constantly speaks to us and gives us His direction. It’s never the Lord who is not speaking, but it’s us who are not hearing. Jesus made some radical statements about hearing His voice in John 10:3-5. He was speaking about Himself as the Shepherd of the sheep and the only way to enter the sheepfold.

“To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice; and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.”

Notice that He said in verse 3, His sheep hear His voice. He didn’t say His sheep CAN hear His voice or SHOULD hear His voice. He made the emphatic statement that His sheep DO hear His voice. Most Christians would question the accuracy of that statement since their experiences don’t line up. But it’s not what Jesus said that is wrong; all true believers can and do hear the voice of God; they just don’t recognize what they are hearing as being God’s voice.

Radio and television stations transmit twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; but we only hear them when we turn the receiver on and tune it in. Failure to hear the signal doesn’t mean the station isn’t transmitting. Likewise, God is constantly transmitting His voice to His sheep, but few are turned on and tuned in. Most Christians are busy pleading with God in prayer to transmit when the problem is with their receivers.

The first thing we need to do is fix our receivers — believe that God is already speaking and start listening. However, that takes time, effort, and focus. The average Christian’s lifestyle is so busy, it isn’t conducive to hearing God’s voice. For instance, what is your typical answer to the question, “How are you?” Many of you probably answer something about being very busy. I often say, “I’m busier than a one-arm paper hanger.” All of us seem to be busier than ever, and that’s one of the BIG reasons we don’t hear the voice of the Lord better. We’re just too busy.

Psalm 46:10 says,

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

It’s in stillness, not busyness, that we tune our spiritual ears to hear the voice of God. The Lord always speaks to us in that “STILL, small voice” (1 Kings 19:12, emphasis mine), but often it’s drowned out amid all the turmoil of our daily lives.

Second, and this is very important, most often we mistake the voice of the Lord for our own thoughts. That’s right. I said the voice of the Lord comes to us in our own thoughts.

John 4:24 says,

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

This is saying that communication with God is Spirit to spirit, not brain to brain or mouth to ear, the way we communicate in the physical realm. The Lord speaks to our spirits, not in words, but in thoughts and impressions. Then our spirits speak to us in words like, “I think the Lord wants me to do this or that.” The Lord doesn’t typically say “You do this or that,” but He will impress your spirit to do something, and then your spirit says, “I think I should do . . .” Therefore, we often miss the leading of the Lord, thinking it’s our own thoughts.

Every one of us has done something stupid and afterwards said, “I knew that was the wrong thing to do.” We didn’t feel right about our decision, but we followed logic or pressure only to find that our impression was actually the Lord speaking to us. I learned this the hard way while pastoring in Pritchet, Colorado.

All the elders of the church were custom combiners. Six months of the year, they were gone following the wheat harvest. They insisted that we ordain another elder who would always be there. Their choice for eldership, I had nothing against, but as I prayed about this man and his wife, I didn’t feel right ordaining him as an elder. However, being a man, I went with logic instead of my heart.

Within two weeks of the others leaving for wheat harvest, this new elder turned into the devil himself. In his reports to the elders, he accused me of stealing money from the church, committing adultery, drinking, smoking, and everything else you can imagine. It was a terrible experience. As soon as this man showed his true colors, I knew in my heart that the feelings and thoughts I had were the Lord speaking to me, and I had dismissed them as my own. I made a decision right then and there that I would never ignore my heart again.

Psalm 37:4 says,

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

This verse has often been interpreted to mean that the Lord will give you whatever you want and has been used to justify selfishness, greed, and even adultery. But it doesn’t mean that the Lord will give you whatever you want; it means that when you are seeking the Lord, He will put His wants or desires into your heart. He will make His desires become your desires. The Lord changes your “want to.”

I once was planning a trip to Costa Rica, a place I had been before, and was excited to be returning to. Yet, as I prayed about it, I lost my desire to go. Instead, I actually felt dread about going. The first thing I did when that happened was make sure I was really seeking the Lord with my whole heart. While on a road trip, I spent seventeen hours praying in tongues, and the more I got my mind stayed on the Lord, the less I wanted to go back to Costa Rica. On the strength of that alone, I canceled the trip.

When the people of Costa Rica asked why, all I could tell them was I didn’t want to go. That was hard to do, and I’m not sure they understood. The plane I had booked my flight on crashed on take-off from Mexico City, killing all 169 persons onboard. The Lord warned me of that and saved my life, not by saying, “Don’t go to Costa Rica,” but, by communicating to my spirit and taking away my desire to go. That is the dominate way the Lord speaks to us, and we often miss that kind of communication.

One of the most important decisions of my life came in 1968. I was in college when the Lord radically touched my life, and all my desires changed. I didn’t want to be in college anymore, and following those new desires, I made the decision to quit school. Then all hell broke loose. My mother didn’t understand, and she quit talking to me for a time. Leaders in my church told me I was hearing from the devil. I stood to lose $350 per month in government support from my father’s social security, and I would lose my student deferment from the draft. Without the deferment, I stood a good chance of ending up in Vietnam.

Because of these adverse reactions to my decision, I backed off for a while and was absolutely miserable. This continued for two months until I couldn’t take it anymore, and one night the Lord finally spoke to me through Romans 14:23, which says,

“Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

I realized I was in sin because of indecision. I determined to make a faith decision that night and stick with it. As I prayed and studied the Word for guidance, I found Colossians 3:15, which says,

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.”

The Lord spoke to me that I was to head in the direction that gave me the most peace. To be truthful, I didn’t have total peace in any direction, but just as an umpire has to make a decision and stick with it, I needed to make the call. I had the most peace about quitting school, so I made the call and stepped out of indecision into faith, to the best of my understanding. Within twenty-four hours the Lord gave me such confirmation and joy that I have never doubted the wisdom of that decision since. That one decision, possibly more than any other, set my life on a course that has brought me to where I am today.

I am convinced that our gracious heavenly Father speaks to every one of His children constantly, giving us all the information and guidance we need to be total overcomers. There isn’t a problem with His transmitter; it’s our receiver that needs help.

I have a three-part teaching album called How to: Hear God’s Voice that expounds on this in greater detail. I teach this every year to our second-year CBC students and see powerful results. Most people are imploring God to speak, when it’s our hearing that needs to be adjusted. Taking this faith-stance that God is speaking and then learning to listen and obey will transform your relationship with the Lord. It could save your life just as it did mine.

A Fly on the Wall at the Cain Domain…What does the word AFFAIR MEAN?

Via Scoop.itToday’s Transmedia Woman

Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall Friday when Herman Cain meets with his wife for the first time since allegations surfaced of a 13-year affair? “Since I’ve been campaigning all week, I haven’t had an opportunity to sit down with her and walk through this with my wife and my family. I will do that when I get back home on Friday,” Cain told reporters gathered at his New Hampshire campaign headquarters Wednesday night.

He’s plotting an aggressive campaign schedule across several states, but Cain has begun to outline a possible exit strategy from the race for the Republican presidential nomination.   The allegation first surfaced on Monday, and says he has only spoken to his wife by phone. Cain, a top-tier candidate just weeks ago, says he’ll decide in the next “few days” whether to abandon his White House bid, but not before he meets — in person — with his wife.   Many Republican operatives believe Cain’s bid is over whether he pulls the plug or not. His fundraising and public image may be damaged beyond repair.

WCNTV Commentary: Wow I heard that Steve Harvey broke down the word AFFAIR yesterday on his radio program. I heard this second hand so let me see if I can get this right. Lets take the word AFFAIR which I am sure Steve knows a bit about given his troubles with his ex. First you have the letter “A” then the first “F” is for Friend, the Second “F” Stands for ____________Fillin the Blank. (while he was on radio and not Satellite Radio plus Steve is a Christian now he lets you fill in the blank. then there is ‘IR” suggesting that without the two “Fs” you have “AIR”.

Seriously though can you hear him trying to explain. You see Honey, What had happen was…………..Well I hope he is bringing his Secret Service Protection Team in advance of his return home. Still SNL will have a field day with this one. Mike Tyson may get another shot at this one. I can see him saying to his security detail. Remove all the Sharp Objects please. And God can you imagine Chris Rock doing a routine on this one. What a catch 22. Maybe he was just being Pastor Cain and was providing some Southern Comfort to a “FRIEND” WINK WINK.

Ol Boy is in trouble and the Republicans who should have had a Come to Jesus Meeting with this guy long ago must have decided to give up on this election cycle.   Mitt may not be fit. Newt is a hoot and Paul, Huntsman and Rick Santorum are boring. And since this is Today’s Transmedia Woman, What should Michelle Bachmann, the only woman in the race do to get the respect a candidate should expect. Who would you trust with your Kids Future. I bet Sarah Palin who has been relatively quiet might be saying Damn I should have run. That is all that is missing from this Side Show.

And while we should all be very concerned about the real issues. You cannot help watching this Train Wreck and the desire to be a Fly on the Wall at Hermann’s to take notes on how he can get out of this one.   And if the next news conference Brother man shows up with a Black Eye and a few missing teeth we will know that there is no Fury like a Women Scorned. And no amount of Secret Service can protect a man against a Black Women who has been asked to believe that we were just friends and I was doing a noble thing to help her pay her rent with no strings attached.   And while we all would like to see some evidence. Which at this point will come out sooner or later whether he steps down or not given Herman’s own policies and positions in his Clarence Thomas World that he has created.   Maybe a Uncle Ruckus Boondocks episode is coming for sure if not already in production. This must be a comedy writers dream come true. @wcntv

All Aboard the CAIN TRAIN NOT. WHY THE CAIN LINE SERVICE DISCONTINUED AT THIS STOP

It may be time for a Reality Check.  Another Black Eye for Herman Cain.  Kind of feel sorry for him, more so his wife.  Using the it wasn’t me defense is getting tired, over used and trite.

So we have another woman ready to risk everything just to do what stop you running in a race you cannot possibly win.  Its time for a Come to Jesus Meeting with your wife and Pastor and a well needed vacation.  Just do it sooner rather than later.

I am reminded often in our quest for success not to embarrass your family and the generations before you.  You wonder if he heard his attorney at all prior to going on CNNLynn Wood is a brilliant attorney who crafted a great response that Cain completely ignored.   First everyone knows that a man is about as faithful as his options.

Herman Cain - Caricature

CAIN DRAIN

Now 5 Women are lying about him.  Each of which understands the Media will Rip their lives apart.  Bro I expect to see you back on Wolf saying BLITZ,  I resign.   His campaign is now Radioactive and he has no one to blame but himself.

Let’s try to ignore the allegations for a moment and listen to his policies.
